This is the most important point to rescuing animals ALWAYS is spay and neuter - this is crucial in decreasing the homeless pet population! Absolutely critical to animal rescue.
But the puppies are too young.
Consider the number of Wagmor puppies are placed with families unsterilized. Thousands.
Does Wagmor follow up with all these families regarding the sterilization?
How is this different than a pet shop?
Allegedly, there are multiple instances of Wagmor rescue dogs becoming pregnant!!!
Assumptions are being made that someone who is willing to pay $850-$2000 adoption fee will be responsible and follow through with the spay or neuter.
This could also by another way to increase profits.
For those who DO get their dog spayed or neutered, the Somis Animal Hospital is terribly inconvenient to go to and many opt to see a vet closer to home, increasing profit from adoption fee.
Do any of these dogs come from the shelter? The transfer of ownership form says all dogs all either surrendered or abandoned, how does this work?
Like most animal hospitals since the pandemic, it takes 1.5 - 2 months to schedule the procedure for spay or neuter.
Puppies under the age of 6 months are never fixed before getting adopted. Thousands of puppies have been adopted from Wagmor since 2020. Estimates range around 3500 puppies.
Wagmor makes no attempt to follow up with the adoptive families to confirm spay or neuter.
This is where dogs end up. Statistically, only one in ten dogs stays in the same home their entire life.

In a recent article on abc17news.com, Melissa Bacelar was interviewed for a statement on the current situation at the animal shelters. Animal Shelters are experiencing serious overcrowding, short staff, neglected animals, and shelters are underfunded.
The irony that can't be overlooked are the very serious allegations against Melissa Bacelar, founder of Wagmor Pets.
Ms. Bacelar has an extensive history of buying puppies from backyard breeders, not offering to spay and neuter the parents, and adopting the puppies out before they are spayed or neutered.
A voucher is given to the new dog family along with a promise to follow through on the procedure.
In a statement made by Ms Bacelar, she says that people need to start taking responsibility...spay and neuter their dogs, and stop buying dogs and giving them up...

Adoption shall be both sterilized and adoptable for total fees, including, but not limited to, adoption fees, not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500).
Wagmor adopting fees START at $650, most $850,
max so far - $2000.

Wagmor claims to have rescued 4500 dogs or
200 per month.
Lets be conservative, average out adoption fees to $850.00
1. Why aren't all adoption $$$$$$ the same? Some dog's medical care costs more than others, but that doesn't change the fee? But adoption fees are higher for purebreds? That sounds just like a pet store or breeder.
2. Why is the application process completely focused on PUPPIES? Don't you rescue adult dogs? If your answer is you use the word interchangeably, referring to all dogs as "puppies", then we have a follow up question...
3. Does that mean that you don't get to meet the dog before finalizing the adoption? Adopters don't meet adult dogs before payment is recieved?
4. If that is not the case, that means that you aren't using the word "puppy" interchangeably, IT MEANS YOU FOCUS ON RESCUING AND ADOPTING PRIMARILY PUPPIES!
5. Does Wagmor return the adoption fee if it's not the right match? NO

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
Scammers have been taking it a step further by creating fake dog rescues and asking for donations. They use emotionally-charged sob stories of struggling rescues, animals needing urgent veterinary care, and claiming they cannot accept any form of support but money due to a number of circumstances.
"The rescuers call many breeders heartless operators of inhumane 'puppy mills' and work to ban the sale of their dogs in brick-and-mortar pet stores. The breeders call 'retail rescuers' hypocritical dilettantes who hide behind nonprofit status while doing business as unregulated, online pet stores," Kavin writes, adding that some breeders say an increasing number of puppies are being bred for sale to rescuers.
Whether to skirt retail sales ban laws, or simply to take advantage of people’s good intentions to adopt, some in the industry are trying a new tactic called “puppy laundering”: funneling puppy mill-bred puppies through phony nonprofit organizations so they can be falsely marketed to the public as “adoptable” or “rescues.” These puppies may wind up “for adoption” at pet stores, on websites or directly through these fake nonprofits. Fraudulent puppy sellers charge exorbitant “adoption fees”—sometimes thousands of dollars—and pocket the profits.

Pit bulls are perhaps the most controversial dog breed around the world. These pups are exposed to unfair stereotypes that result in a negative reputation for the breed. In my experience, my pit bull has done nothing but show love and affection. So why do pit bulls get such a bad rap?
According to the American Temperament Test Society, pit bulls passed with an 87% passing rate. Although their score is high on the scale, dog owners believe that pit bulls are unruly and dangerous. The implicit bias from outside sources such as the media contribute to the negative opinion that dog owners have on pit bulls. For example, over 200 news outlets covered a report of a pit bull attack in 2007. In that same year, only one news article broadcasted a story about a Labrador attack. Why was the pit bull attack so much more important?
People think that when a pit bull attacks, it’s all because of the breed’s temperament. What they don’t know is that a variety of factors can be the cause for a pit bull to attack. 87% of pit bull attacks had no one to intervene while the attack occurred. 84% of pit bulls unneutered which causes a massive shift in behavior. Pit bulls are like a book, you can’t judge them by their cover.
The truth is, pit bulls are like any other dog. They need a little TLC just like your chihuahua or golden retriever. These dogs aren’t a public health threat. They’re here to make you smile, make you laugh, and make you feel loved. Now do me a favor. If you have a pit bull, give them a pet for me.
